Tree planting

On Wednesday, we were joined by foresters Rosie Wibberly and Dave Wood who talked to the children about the importance of trees and the impact that they can have on helping us to reduce the problems of climatic warming. The children all had the opportunity to learn about different tree seeds and nuts and then planted their own seeds which will hopefully germinate and be ready for planting next year. Many thanks to Rosie and Dave for all of their hard work.

Knightshayes 2019

On Monday 4th November, Class 1 and 2 went on a trip to Knightshayes. We wrote recounts of the trip. Here are parts of some of Class 2’s recounts.

First we got our muddy boots on. Secondly our class went into class 1. Then we started walking on the concrete road. After that we went up a wet steep field. Next we walked past the collapsed play area. Finally we got to the other play area.

When we got there Mrs Worthington had some fruit. First I started looking around. Then I made a game up, so Jenson and I were the kings, Elliott and Walter were the guards. Secondly I chased Josh. Josh ran away from me. Then I catched him. I took him to the jailor. Next I knew where his base was so I went there. Last but not least he got away.

When we all got there Mrs Worthington carried some fruit in a bag. We picked one piece of clean fruit and started to play. I helped Rosie and Sienna make a potion. After that I climbed a tree and couldn’t get down! But luckily a teacher got me down. Then I wacked pieces of wood off a log. I found 9 bugs and put a piece of wood in the interest bag. One of the black worms uncurled it was cool.
